This brief involved tackling an issue chosen from an ODA- listed country, and developing a poster campaign inspired from the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Building on 'Life Below Water' I chose the Philippines and developed a campaign to encourage fishermen in becoming 'Registered Fisherfolk'- providing financial support in sustainable fishing practises.

I was inspired by 20th century Filipino graphic design and the artist 'Jap Mikel' in creating posters that empower fishermen, conveying them as heroic in a call for community action to address the dangers facing their environment and livelihoods. I chose the Municipality of Sablayan to contextualise this, as nearby Apo Reef has been disrupted heavily with illegal fishing.
